Morning Habits That Will Change Your Day

Mornings. The time of the day that most of us dread. I was that person - every morning I wanted to lie in and do nothing. That changed. Once I understood how beautiful our mornings can be - I looked forward to them ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today i'll be sharing morning habits that will change your day. This works for me and I hope it works for you too!

1. Waking up early

Actually having time to yourself and to do the things you love sounds pretty good right? Well, if you wake up early you'll be able to do these things. I decided to wake up at 7am every morning because I got so much more time in the day! Plus no one's awake at that time so I had the morning all to myself. First thing I do is make my bed, skincare, make coffee and check my emails. This allows me to get a head start to the day. If you wake up even earlier, you'll be able to witness the beautiful sunrise ๐ŸŒ… For more reasons to wake up early check out Youtuber Muchelleb's video here.

2. Not checking my phone first thing

This changed my life. Did you know how distracting it is to check your phone first thing in the morning? Do you really want to be bombarded with notifications? Why not save time and get a jump start to your day? I haven't checked my phone first thing in four years. The setting is on Do Not Disturb mode from 7am to 7pm (sunrise to sunset). However, I don't check my phone until about 10am. I'm free to do whatever I please. Still not convinced? Have a read of this article.

3. Making my bed

A simple task like making my bed makes me feel so much more put together in the morning! Studies have shown that you're more likely to hop back into bed when its not made. And how much tidier does your room look? This can make you more productive because you already got one task done. So starting from tomorrow, try making your bed and see how you feel ^

4. Light Breakfast + Tea

Unless its the weekend I like having a light breakfast with my tea in the morning. By 'light' I mean food that makes me feel energetic in comparison to heavy. A typical breakfast for me is egg, toast & tea. Fruit is also nice and refreshing in the warmer months. A tea i've been obsessed with is Royal Chai's Masala Tea. My dad bought the sachets a month ago and at first I was reluctant to have it but once I tried it I'VE BEEN HOOKED. I don't like a lot of tea's but the combination of spices and milk tastes delicious. Royal Chai kindly sent me a combination of tea's from their range which also includes Kanak Chai, Kashmiri Chai and Elaichi Chai. I tried the Elacichi Chai recently and its become my new fave! If you'er a fan of the Spiced Chai Latte then i'd deffo recommend purchasing them. The tea's are sweetened or unsweetened and are available in sachets, cups and tubs. You can purchase the tea's from Amazon here ☕

5.  Pamper myself

I don't mean having a full on pamper session with a face mask and everything, but doing something like taking more time on my skincare or wearing moisturiser. Every Saturday morning I be sure to do something to take care of myself. For instance, yesterday I put on a nose pour strip to remove blackheads from my nose. Even if its one product that pampers you, use it. It'll make you feel refreshed and put together.

6.  Listen to a podcast

Podcasts are educational, informative, entertaining and so much more. You can find a podcast on pretty much any topic of interest to you. Do a Google search and you're good to go! I have a list of my favourite podcasts on self-care/personal development which you can read here. Lately i've been loving The Cimorelli Podcast - 6 sisters who are singers that talk about relationships, sisterhood, faith, love, food and MORE. Check out their podcast which is also available on Apple Music & Spotify and let me know what you think๐Ÿ‘

7.  Go for a walk

Days are longer, sun is shining brighter - what a perfect time to go for walks. I recommend going for a walk early in the morning (sunrise if you can) because its so magical and you really live in the moment. Breathing in the cool air, surrounded by nature ahh sounds so calming right? What a nice way to start a busy day, taking a stroll around your neighbourhood. I'm lucky to live near a hill where nothing but greenery surrounds me. If you live in a similar place then take a walk there.

8.  To do list

In university this was my saviour. I used to have a list of tasks in my head and then wondered why i'd get overwhelmed. Then I discovered what a to do list was and haven't stopped using them since! The process of writing things down (your thoughts, tasks) is called brain dumping and you feel instantly better. After your morning routine, grab a notepad + pen and write a list of tasks that need to be completed and wallah that's you're to do list. Tick off each task that you complete and reward yourself at the end of the day.

9.  Drink water

If you know me, you know i'm always drinking water. I've sworn by 7 glasses a day since I was 18 when I understood the health benefits of the beautiful, refreshing drink. Only downside is I pee A LOT. My family and friends get tired of my constant urge to go to the bathroom but my argument is if you drink a lot of water you're gonna have to pee a lot. Simple. Anyway ๐Ÿ˜‚ When you wake up, drink a glass of water. This will kick start your metabolism and its just so good for you. If I don't drink water in the morning, I make sure to drink green tea. That's also a refreshing and healthy drink.

10.  Get off social media

There's more to life then waking up and checking social media. No thank you. Why not use the time to exercise, make a yummy breakfast or get that task done? Social media will always be there and you'll have opportunities to check it throughout the day. Have the morning to yourself without distractions and see what happens. You might be surprised.

I hope this post inspired you to introduce a few healthy habits into your mornings! Comment below what healthy habits you do every morning to make it the best one.

  3. Most casinos enable them at the table in case your use would not slow down the sport. Blackjack is dealt on a particular table that's semi-circular in ๋ฐ”์นด๋ผ์‚ฌ์ดํŠธ form. When you sit down you must buy chips from the vendor or convey them from another table.
